programming geomechanics

Hello, my name is Adrien Haxaire. I am a researcher in numerical geomechanics. I think that in our field, being a good programmer is as important as being a good researcher.

This is why this blog is mainly about programming and in a lesser measure geomechanics, even if I wish to blog more about this wonderful science, from the theory to the applications.

Last year I discovered the functional programming language Haskell, which completely changed the way I look at programming. I spend some of my spare time working on the finite element library I started to learn Haskell and functional programming, funfem. This is more a crucible than a practical library; you are more than welcome if you want to be part of the project.
